In off-roll coating application there is no fixed distance between the die and the coating roll, which allows changes in substrate thickness. Stable web tension at the coating area keeps the substrate in continuous contact with the die so that the adhesive is laid upon de surface of the web, achieving from random patterns to high add-on full coating surfaces.
